Bodegas Nekeas Tinto is a young, fresh, and fruity red that is bursting with dark stone fruits and that signature spicy earthiness that only Spanish wines give.
As the vineyards are located in Nekeas Valley in the North of Navarra, the cool climate and strong Atlantic influence is clear in this wine. The valley is lies between 420-650 metres high with dramatic shifts in temperature between day and night most of the year, this diurnal shift ripens our fruit whilst helping to retain freshness and structure in our wines. Maceration on skins took place over fifteen days before fermentation with only the free run juice fermented in stainless still tank to ensure the wine does not lack structure, colour, and flavour but the purity of the fruit in such a young wine is not overwhelmed with structure. Full Malolactic to soften acidity and round the wine. It does not undergo any oak aging.
